Default Levomethorphan (LVM)
Levomethorphan is the enantiomer of dextromethorphan. In contrast to DXM which is a dissociative and antitussive, levomethorphan is an opioid analgesic. Levomethorphan is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes 2D6 and 3A4, the same liver enzymes that are used to metabolize DXM. It is a potent opioid analgesic approximately five times stronger than morphine but less potent than levorphanol as it must be demethylated by liver enzymes before becoming active. [1]
