"At doses higher than medically recommended, dextromethorphan will cause hallucinations. Taking 400-600mg per day may cause poisoning, and exceeding that level could potentially be lethal. (dre)"

"Mayangang police chief Adj. Comr. Nur Khori told kompas.com that the couple, who are both street buskers, apparently took around 280 dextromethorphan after being distressed to being unable to make ends meet."
lolwut? Assuming thats 280mg, they obviously forgot to point out that the cough preparation most likely had other active ingredients (unless they were both enzyme deficient). Gotta love mass media scare tactics :) |

Argh... why does an add cover up half the page?
"Uhhh...what? " They're talking about per day, not just one dose. Maybe they got seratonin syndrome or something from something else they might have been on. |

It was 280 dxm pills, prolly not cold medicine, an obvious overdose. It's not scare tactics, and it's not false media, infact, YOU GUYS r the ones twisting the story around. The story said, couple takes 280 dextromethorphan pills because they couldn't make ends meet. I kno you want to stand up for dxm, but what happened here was an intentional suicide.
