Bill would limit sales of cough syrup, spray paint
Associated Press - February 12, 2008 10:25 AM ET
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - People younger than 18 would not be allowed to buy spray paint and certain cough medicines under a bill approved by a state Senate committee.
Senator Charlie Laster says some teens use cough syrup containing dextromethorphan - or DMX - and spray paint to get high.
Anyone who sells the products to a person under 18 could be fined up to $500 for a first offense and up to $2,500 for each subsequent offense.
A similar bill passed the Senate last year but died in the state House.
The current bill now to the full Senate for consideration.

I thought I noticed a can of "DMX"-colored Rustoleum at the auto parts store the other day. Good grief, where do they get lawmakers to put their names to these bills? Or perhaps more to the point, who edits these news stories?
Don't huff spray paint, kids.
